Will My Website or App Be Able To Accept Online Payments?

The answer is yes. If you wish to accept payments within a website or an app, this is possible. We would have to integrate a third party service, known as a Payment Gateway to achieve this. There are different Payment Gateway Providers depending on your business' country.

1. Botswana

If you wish to accept payments within your e-commerce website, this is possible. We would have to integrate a third party service to achieve this. We have identified a Payment Gateway company called DPO (https://dpogroup.com/online-payments/botswana) to make this possible.

DPO operates in Botswana in collaboration with FNB and other banks. The setup for accepting payments with DPO will allow you to receive payments into your bank account when your customers pay using a debit or credit card.

NOTE: DPO has a setup fee of US$300 and will charge a commission of 4.9% per transaction (As at the time of writing this brochure). The 4.9% is a transaction fee that will be added to your prices on the website, so that the price that customers see will be: Your Price + 4.9% of Your Price.

2. South Africa

We have identified a South African Payment Gateway company called PayFast (www.payfast.co.za) to make this possible.

NOTE: PayFast Will charge a commission of maximum of 3.5% + R2 per transaction (As at the time of writing this brochure). The percentage varies depending on the method of payment the customer uses. There are no setup fees. The 3.5% + R2 is a transaction fee that will be added to your prices on the website, so that the price that customers see will be: Your Price + 3.5% of Your Price + R2.

3. United States and Other Countries

The choice of payment Gateway depends on your country/region.

We have identified Stripe (www.stripe.com) as a universal payment Gateway that is available for a lot of countries. If stripe does not operate in your region, we will identify a suitable payment gateway with which to process your online payments.

Stripe, Inc. is an Irish-American financial services and software as a service company dual-headquartered in San Francisco, United States and Dublin, Ireland. The company primarily offers payment processing software and application programming interfaces for e-commerce websites and mobile applications in several countries.

NOTE: Stripe will charge a commission of maximum of US$2.9% + 30¢ per transaction (As at the time of writing this brochure). There are no setup fees. The 2.9% + 30¢ is a transaction fee that will be added to your prices on the website, so that the price that customers see will be: Your Price + 2.9% of Your Price + 30¢.
